SPORTS KARATE EXAM PROGRAM
Sports Karate (in this sector, there are no kata or forms)
Examination from green belt 3rd kyu to blue belt 2nd kyu (minimum ten-month period)

The I.K.F. (International Karate Federation) has developed a program for belt (kyu) promotions; however, the Sports Club Technical Director may develop his or her own program. The Club Technical Director may examine, subject to the time limits, up to 1st kyu (brown belt).

Part 1: Falls:
Falls remain very important in sport karate.
a) Forward rotational fall (zempo ukemi)
b) Lateral fall (yoko ukemi)
c) Backward fall (ushiro ukemi)

Part 2: Arm Techniques
a) Oi – Zuki Chudan (moving forward)
b) Sotto – Uke (moving back)
c) Age – Uke (moving back)

g) Gyaku – Zuki Jodan (moving back)

c) Tori: (the one who performs the technique) gedan - barai (going back) + moving forward mae – geri (response of uke (the one who is hit) gedan – barai.

5th test: Throw
To be performed in motion with a partner
a) - De - ashi - Barai (sweep on the advanced leg (foot))
Tori achieves this move by striking the advanced supporting leg with the flat of his foot, with a sharp swipe of the foot, taking advantage of his partner's off-balance.

b) - Okuri Ashi Barai (sweep on both feet)
Tori, the Okuri Ashi Barai technique requires excellent timing and can be performed on Uke's lateral or rotating movements.
