GOJU RYU KARATE EXAM  4h DAN PROGRAM    

Goju-Ryu Style Karate Exam for 4th Dan (without title).

Minimum 3-year tenure as 3rd Dan.

1st round:

kihon: fundamentals. Execution of 6 freely composed personal combinations with techniques specific to the Goju-Ryu style.

2nd round:

KATA: technical model. One kata chosen by the commission from among all the previous ones.

TENSHÔ SÊSAN BUNKAI: application of the kata in SÊSAN sequences (6 sequences).

3rd round:

Kumite: Combat exercises. Jiyu kumite: 2 bouts of 1'30" each.

4th round:

a) Kakie: Free-moving techniques of punching, kicking, blocking, and throwing.

KIGU HOJOUNDO: Preparatory exercises with apparatus (optional, depending on the style practiced).

b) Demonstration with one apparatus chosen from:

Chi-ishi, Nigiri-game and Ishi-sashi, Kongoken.

c) SHIMON: Theory (optional, depending on the style practiced). Questionnaire (20 multiple-choice questions. Time allowed: 15 minutes).
