WADO RYU KARATE EXAM  4th DAN PROGRAM    

Wado Ryu style karate exam for 4th dan (without title).

1st test:

a)- kihon Zuki – Geri – Uke (As per program for 1st dan) ren raku waza at least three of the candidate's choice (alone and with partner).

b)- gyaku zuki chudan (tsugi ashi), Nagashi ura ken uchi, Jun no nagashi furi ken uchi, Ura ken uchi and Mawashi geri jodan (tsugi ashi) (equal guard partner).

c)- ashi barai (tsugi ashi), Ura ken uchi, Chudan barai (Yori okuri ashi back 45°) kaiten Tetsui uchi jodan, Yoko enpi chudan (advancing, with the same arm) (partner in mirror guard).

d)- Otoshi teisho uke (yori okuri ashi back), Uchi uke te (back), Mawashi ushiro geri chudan, Ura ken uchi, Mae geri. - (partner in mirror guard).

e)- A free combination with at least 20 techniques and some applications. Always start in left free guard and return to kamae at the end of each series.

f)- Repeat on the opposite side, always recalling, in tsugi ashi back.

2nd round:

a)- KATA 1. Two kata chosen by the examining panel, from those available up to 3rd dan.

b)- Two free bun kai techniques from the performed kata.

c)- Seishan, Niseishi, Jutte

3rd round:

a)- Sanbon kumite (or alternative) chosen by the examining panel.

b)- Ohyo kumite (or alternative) Nanahonme – Hachihonme.

c)- Kihon kumite (or alternative) Hachihonme – Kyuhonme – Jupponme.

d)- Kumite kata (or alternative) Kyuhonme – Jupponme.

e)- Hidori (at least two chosen by the candidate).

Tanto tori (at least two chosen by the candidate).
