These Arbitration rules have been studied with a more real criterion in the arbitration judgment, we are convinced that the more real the judgment towards the athletes is, the more the sportiness of the competition will be understood and appreciated by all, including the spectator public. We wanted to separate the roles of competence in the figures of: Race director - Competition judges - Competition commissioner - Notary public.

sports karate - Olympic Karate - Karate contact - Traditional Karate
Development methods:
sports karate - traditional karate is played on traditional mats like judo
Olympic karate - karate contact is played on the Olympic-type Ring
Art. 1- Hierarchy
Notary public The public notary is unique, accessed through a theoretical and practical course lasting 30 hours.
Competition Commissioner Level 1
Commissioner is Regional 2nd level race commissioner is National 3rd level race commissioner is International.
They are selected by I.K.F. and chosen among the most deserving race officials.
1st level manager is Regional.
2nd level race director is National.
3rd level race director is International
It is accessed via a theoretical and practical course lasting 30 hours,minimum requirements black belt
Competition judge 1st level is Regional.
2nd level competition judge is National.
3rd level judge is International
It is accessed via a theoretical and practical course lasting 30 hours, requirements: minimum at least 1 kyu
Art. 2- Jury's uniform
Race Commissioner, Race Director and Judge:
black trousers, black shoes, blue socks, white or gray shirt according to the provisions issued for the occasion, tie and blue jacket, the Notary is left free choice, only for the director of race must wear the black papion type tie.
Art. 3- Loss of qualification
he qualification is lost for the following cases:
A- lack of and not justified presence at the calls for competitions
B- lack of attendance at refresher courses
C- for disciplinary measure
Art. 4- Duties of the notary public

the tender Notary has the task of verifying and transcribing, in the tender printouts, the score assigned to the athlete by each single judge.

note the penalties imposed on the athlete by the Director for each yellow card = value 1 penalty point, red card Expulsion and Disqualification.

C- complete the minutes of the final score and admonitions.

Art. 5 - Duties of the Race Commissioner

carefully check the entire match

at the end of each round, collect the scores from the judges and hand them over to the notary

check that in the Score reports there are no corrections or jumps in points to favor one or the other athlete

possibly make references, at the end of the Round, to the race director or incorrect judges
Art. 6 - Duties and duties of the Competition Director
A- the Race Director is the one who is at the center of the competition area, he has the duty to safeguard the safety of the athletes, he must recall or admonish all the techniques brought to the fray and harmful to the image of karate, he must warn all the techniques that produce physical damage to the opponent, he is responsible for directing the match from the beginning to the end but cannot stop the match to award points as the points are awarded by the competition judges.
B- can stop the round to give warnings, or to return athletes to their sporting ease, to call the athlete verbally or to warn him with a yellow card for small fouls, red for a serious foul to Expulsion or Disqualification
C- for Expulsion or Disqualification, a decision that must be taken in agreement with the Competition Commissioner, Judges and the Competition Doctor
* Prohibited techniques or actions:

However, due to misconduct or simulation, the athlete will still have to be warned directly
Responsibilities:
* in the event of physical damage to the athlete, the race doctor must be summoned, in the event of failure to call the doctor, the race director assumes full responsibility.
* In the event of injury the continuity of the match depends on the doctor's verdict.
* In the event of a slight skid or a symptom of KO, the Race Director has the obligation to stop the match immediately by urging the race doctor, however the athlete will not be able to continue the match, in this case the Race doctor assumes the responsibility of having the athlete transferred to the first emergency department, if the opponent is found guilty, he must be disqualified and deferred to the Sporting Judge who will judge the case, in any case when the abandonment of the 'due to serious medical intervention, with transport to the hospital, the match must be considered null and declared the disqualification of the responsible athlete.
Art. 7- Duties of the Competition Judges

The Judge before starting the match, must collect, at the jury table, the round printouts and fill it in every part.

They are responsible for judging and assigning the score for each action or technique that he deems valid.

The Judge must assign the point, Ippon or Waz-ari, without partiality or judgments of style

The Judge cannot assign any point to the techniques considered dangerous as: Kakato-gery, Zuki techniques brought to the Nape - Throat, spine - nukite the eyes, Techniques carried to the lower abdomen, to ligaments, push or bite, techniques of projection with relapse on the opponent who create injuries.
F- Judgment criterion for the Waz-ari value = 1 point: techniques with balance executed with gery (leg) and direct to the chest - to the back - to the face (even if slightly distant) - projections even without final technique all the flying techniques even if slightly distant - techniques of Zuki (fist) directed to the face - chest - ura-ken - usciro-ura-ken
Judgment criterion for Ippon value = 3 points:
Techniques of gery (leg) to the face to touch with maximum control and spectacle - Projections with final technique - Projections of the opponent who falls on his back even without closure - Flying techniques with perfect control and balance, zuki (punch) techniques in advance to 'opponent with maximum control.
All the techniques noted in the score report and rethought, cannot be canceled, the Notary will add them equally, that is why before assigning the point one must be sure.
The judges also have to write down the warnings.
The Judge at the end of each round will have to deliver the score sheet to the Competition Commissioner reporting the sums of both the score and the warnings..
Art. 8- Race area dimensions

Art. 9- Duration of matches
A- Sportive and traditional A-kumité 1 three-minute round.
B- Karate kata lasts two or three minutes.
C- Karate contact round three minutes recover two minutes, the number of rounds depends on the Title up for grabs.
D- Olympic Karate round from three minutes recover two minutes, the number of rounds depends on the Title at stake
Art. 10- Rules for kata
A- The Judges will be three and will be placed on the three sides of the competition area, their vote will be expressed with a scoreboard at the end of the kata execution.
B- The jury table will start and end the execution of the kata.
C- two of the three judges may also not know the style of kata to be performed.
D- the total points will be the total voted.
judgment criterion: continuity of the motor gesture, contraction and direction of the gaze, balance – kimè - kiai.
Art. 11- Yellow Cards
* Keikoku = yellow card - a penalty point
* Hansuku = yellow card - a penalty point
* Shikkaku = red card disqualification
Art. 12- Disciplinary measures
A- for all the members of the jury no criticisms or public interviews on the work of colleagues are admitted.
B- in case of convocation to carry out the Judge at the same time it is forbidden to assist an athlete during the entire event in progress.
C-The coach is forbidden to stay near the competition area or give advice during the match, the coach's advice to his athlete can only be given on the break during the end of each round.
D - Transgressors will be reported to the Sporting Judge who will decide on the matter.
E - In case of conviction, by the sports judge, it will be possible to appeal within 30 days. from the date of receipt of the sentence, the examination of the appeal will be examined at the first meeting of the sports judge. Updated Oct. 2019
